5 Ways to Boost your Energy
So many of us complain about being tired or lethargic during the day. We live busy lives, work longer hours, juggle more things and worry about so much that might not even happen. We could all use more energy, some of us say we just need more time in the day. Sorry, there are only 24 hours in the day so that cannot be changed, however getting more energy is a lot easier. Here are five ways to boost your energy.
Drink Water
The human body is made up of over 75% water. One of the most common reasons for feeling lethargic and having no energy is a lack of water. Alcohol is an energy drainer and coffee can dehydrate you. Increasing your water intake by drinking up to 2 litres a day will help energy levels rise. Water is amazing when it comes to providing energy. Try it and you will be very surprised.
Sleep
When you have no energy, you feel like sleeping. One of the top reasons for lacking in energy is a lack of sleep or poor sleep. We are all pushing ourselves to get more done in less time and we forget that we are humans and not machines. Getting a good 8 hours sleep per night is a really easy way to get more energy during the day. Our human batteries need recharging. If you had a poor sleep you could try a 60-minute cap nap during the day, this also works wonders and actually makes you more productive.
Increase Magnesium
Modern day diets are supposed to be perfect for on the go living. Sadly, on the go meals and modern meals look more towards convenience and speed rather than nutrition. One common occurrence in humans today is a reduced level of or virtual lack of magnesium in the diet. Magnesium is an essential part of diet that is overlooked and if you are often lethargic and lacking energy low levels of magnesium may be your problem. Magnesium is safe to use for pretty much anyone.
Get Physical
Now this is the complete opposite to what you may be thinking. Get up and get active! It doesn’t make a lot of sense at first but getting yourself moving and active pumps oxygen through your body, gets blood moving and thus energy is created. Exercise is vital for keeping energy levels sustained, your body is made to move so move it!
Reduce Stress
The top killer today is stress, or rather the knock-on effects of stress. Energy levels plummet when stressed and the only way to stop this is to reduce stress. Stop taking on more, stop worrying, stop saying yes to everything and stop thinking you can do everything and then some. Life and work is not a race, trying to get to the top by doing more and then dealing with conflicts is killing you. Reducing stress, taking time out or simply just pausing to breath or putting on some music in your headphones will help you feel less tired. The human body is a funny mechanism, stress plays havoc on so many areas of ones health.
All of the above are ways to combat tiredness and fatigue. Life is easy when you follow the rules and listen to your body. It takes very little to feel energised and ready to conquer the world.
